You do realize its around 25-30hp/tq over the entire power band right, not just peak... That is huge, especially coupled with 1LE handing in the base model with 200 less lbs of weight...

Good possibility the 1LE won't even exist as a full blown option the way we know it. It might. I'm simply speculating. Usually the good stuff that used to be optional sometimes becomes standard equipment in later models.

We shall wait and see.
This seems very plausible to me.

LT1, -200lbs and overall smaller car has me apprehensive of going forward with my headers, bushings and tuning I was planning to do on my current 1le. May 16th can't come fast enough.

Yea, the weight mixed with the added power will be great.. But I'm guessing the real world 1/4 might be 2 tenths quicker.. Something the headers and high flow cats I'm planning on adding to the CAI intake and NPP will prolly match.. So it's going to have to be the whole package that sells me.. Power, weight, handling, options, exterior, interior.. That might make me hold off the upgrades, but I'd still prolly wait til 17

According to that leaked GM memo, the 2016 base SS is recording faster track times than the 1LE. This is going to be one bad ass car!!

something to keep in mind is that the ZL1 will probably not be released in 2016....or if they do, it will be a later in the year release info....they are saying this car (the 6th gen) wont even see dealerships until late this year...

As long as the Hellcat/Shelby exist, expect to see a new ZL1...

I bet chevrolet doesn't do a 1LE, but will do a more affordable Z28. Because if they would of made the Z28 MSRP base at $50k, I bet they would sell a crap load of them. Then take a play book from the Z06 Stingray, with various option packages to price it out, so like a $75k OPtion Z28 would get all the toys, the base model would get sorta 1LE setup.

If the 16 is all as advertised, and the 1LE remains defined as a track performance option, just imagine the 16 SS with some 1LE engineering sweetness rubbed into it.

Now that would be a curtain raising show stopping track trouncing car. I would hate to be any other brand after that.

If they do release a 1le in 16 they will give it a refresh in 18 and it will be a much better car than the first years...
