I noticed his last login was 10/13/09, 9:12 PM... the day the most likely CORRECT answer was posted at 1:33 PM. I hope he saw that before taking his car in and telling them it needed a new computer If so, now he would have a car with a new computer that still shuts itself off...

the exact same thing has happened to me on at least three occasions. at first i thought it was just because its an old engine, and before i had it, it wasnt exactly treated very well lol. it just shuts off, then i put it in park, and turn the key off, then back on, and it starts up again. idk wat is. but if u find out, tell me lol

91 Z28 stops running!
Recently my 91 Z28 stalled while on the turnpike going about 80 mph. & also a week later after driving about 15 minutes did the same thing only going 30 mph! No indication of any problem, it is like you just turned off the key! Then it won't start up again usually for about 15 minutes to an hour! It will keep cranking but won't fire up! Won't duplicate the problem for the mechanic & is happening more often! It happens with no rhyme or reason & also when it is still cold! Any ideas?

Hi all. I'm new to forum but I to have the same issues with not running while hot and then starts back up in a few minutes. I am going to relocate the Ignition control module off the distributor in hopes to test the theory of the unit getting to hot and thermo switching off. If this is so then the manufacturer of this unit is to blame and should re evaluate the heat syncs. I'll let you know my results.
