Rotating mass! I have been told this can make your car "feel" 3-500 pounds lighter, let us know??

OP PM me price?

I would guess that may be a bit of a stretch, but it should help lessen the drivetrain loss a bit

The only variance would be if you put the ZL1 rear in the back, then the measurement would change. However, these measurements would work fine for any V8 rearend (Minus the ZL1)

Awesome. I have to wait till after my wife gets 3.73's though, so it may be a while, but its definitely on my upgrade list.

Yeah I don't know about that much of a difference. Doc has a very extensive build thread for his SS. The shaft for his car lost a few pounds and he gained 5-10 hp/tq to the rear wheels. He said he noticed it was more responsive.

Matt,

Could you PM me pricing as well? I'm looking for the best ways to plant the power to the launch. So tired of my wheels just spinning and hopping.

Thanks!

Well just an update.

Went to have the DS installed Saturday, unfortunately it was too short. So back to waiting.

We are waiting to hear from the guys now concerning the DS.. I did the measuring myself with Baylor and double checked it.. Just making sure something was not lost in translation. Stay tuned.

We did a V6 to a SS rearend swap a month or so ago and the stock drive shaft fit exactly the way it did with the V6 rear end in there. Slip joint stayed in the same location. The V8 and V6 rubber couplers are the exact same as well. Nothing moved.

The V6 driveshaft is longer than the V8, considering the trans tailshaft is shorter and also on the rear pinion too. I just got some figures from SC2150 that are V6 = 54.0" collapsed and V8 = 51.5" collapsed. Also as per the Driveshaft Shop shafts are almost 5" difference of V6 vs. V8 (Remember solid 1pc driveshaft need to take into account the slide gap difference).

So, it does fit well with the V8 rear section shaft, but there is a considerable difference in lengths.
