Lowering springs & autocross results.

So....Put lowering springs on my 2014 SS, aligned to previous specs(0 toe front and rear, -1.0deg front & -.6deg rear camber) Car has 285s front and rear on 10in. wheels along with PFADT ZL1 sway bars. The front lowered 1in, but the rear only 5/8in! Anyway ran again in Las vegas again today. Car just didn't handle as well as it did a month earlier in Vegas! Like the fron didn't "bite" into the corner and the rear sliding. So anyone else done this comparison? Or thoughts?

A small chart to assist you now that you have adjustable sways.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

Try softest setting in front(rear hole) for autox and see if that helps. You want the front tires to dig in and the back to more easily come around the cones. Of course depends on how the car feels now as to under/oversteer and how you like it

I went with the BMR 1" front and 1.2" rear drop springs, along with their rear sway bar on my 2010 and love the feel. I haven't had the chance to autocross with my Pirellis and the new setup, but I can tell a huge difference already on the steelies at our opening event. Have you checked into getting a more aggressive allignment? Maybe also play around with your tire pressures following the chart posted above.

Middle/Middle has worked well for us even with a staggered setup. With you having a square setup, the car should be even more prone to oversteer or at least be neutral. I say get a few more laps in before changing things around and you may see different results. Driver input and weight transfer have a lot do do with getting the car to rotate in autocross. Also, everyone drives differently and what works for some may not be best for others. Maybe try the softest setting up front and go from there, but you don't want to get the car too tail happy.

Best regards,

Tyler
