Engine cover removeable???

I think the engine covers are absolutely hideous! The first thing I want to do when I get the car home is remove it, forever.

Is it totally and permanently removable? I looks like things like the oil filler cap might depend on it?

Look for Corvette LS3 engine dress up kits or engine covers

Sweet!

Honestly I just like the look of the LS engine with no cover, except maybe coilpack covers like the vette but that don't say anything...

I like the look of the Vette engine covers. I dont know if they will fit without issues but i'm sure someone will figure it out.

Now, I know GM doesn't have the money to do this without charging big bucks, but they could have aspired to something a little better than a $.05 plastic molding:

No need for an engine cover

Exactly, non-gloss flat power coated intake would have done just fine with some vette style coilpack overs

Which is exactly what I'm thinking of doing myself.....

Perhaps powercoat the manifold red and the valve covers black or the other way around.

Providing there's not a bunch of spaghetti wire loom between the top of the engine and the engine cover.

Anyone have a picture of the LS3 without the cover? Will I have to draw my own schematic diagram and unplug a thousand connectors to take off the intake manifold and valve covers?

I've seen a Carbon Fiber (Yes, Carbon Fiber)Vette cover that looked real good.

I'm totally removing the cover. I think hiding such a beautiful engine is absurd.
