Clutch fluid recommendation
Finally pulled the trigger on a separate clutch fluid reservoir (thanks gen5diy!). wondering what fluid i should be using in the new reservoir for my clutch. wanted to see what you guys have been throwing in, if anything in particular works best or if there's anything to stray from

any synthetic DOT 3 or 4 is fine... STAY AWAY FROM DOT 5 it has silicone in it and will ruin your seals.

Spadz, I went with Valvoline Synthetic Dot 3/4. I might have been more selective if I raced the car, but I'm confident this is a good fluid for even spirited driving.

DOT 3 or 4 is fine, but I would recommend high temperature DOT 4 if you drive it hard. It seems to get hot. Even with the separate reservoir that isn't a lot of fluid and it doesn't circulate really well. I've used ATE Type 200 and Motul 600 without any issues. Just my 2 cents.

Prestone DOT 4 is respected. Cheap at Walmart too.

Motul 600. Pricey, but the good stuff always is.
Been to road course days several times and watched people using cheaper Dot3/4 stuff running into brake fade and spend half the day bleeding brakes. I've never seen anyone have an issue using Motul 600. All Dot 4's are not the same. There is a lot of variation in the temp ratings. $20 a pint on up is the good stuff. The good stuff won't be on sale at Walmart. |

oh, no doubt, i have 3 bottles of motul waiting to go into my brake system, just need to find the time to install my braided lines and flush the system. but until i find enough reason to drop the trans to install the remote bleeder (probably when my clutch goes, if it does) then i'll stick to the prestone, as i'm not gonna be doing the diffusion method with expensive stuff, i'll end up being broke
