I dont know about that one. Have you looked at what those 4V 4 cam 5.4L are capeable of especially with such little mods pulley's, tune, TB (630whp) and such large mods like the world record holder at the Texas mile running a TT GT(1400whp) They have bolt on 1000rwhp kits for the GT500.

I not trying to bash the LSA its just not on par with the 5.4L until it gets forged internals

FWIW - Though not as strong as a completely forged assembly, like a GT 5.4, it still has a forged steal crank, and good rods and pistons. It also has better head gaskets, oil squirters, and other features which don't exactly make it a slouch either

I believe the rods in a gt500 are forged powder metal, same as the LS3 and LSA???

It's my understanding the rods are Manley forgings or something (I forget the name and spelling, lol). They aren't PM.

I think you're right on the PM for the LS3/LSA though.

No, the rods in the GT500 are powder-forged units. The rods in the '03-'04 Cobra's, however, were fully-forged units sourced from Manley. Why they went away from that with the GT500's is a mystery to me.

Nonetheless, the rods in the GT500's have been proven to be able to handle 750+ rwhp consistently, without failure. That is, as long as you keep the rpm's below 6300. Try to spin the motor higher than that in the high-horsepower applications, and they will eventually fail.

Hey in the long run its your car... your the one driving it everyday (I hope) but you can always buy a GT500 & wait until the Z28 comes out. Then you can sell the GT500 & buy the Z28
