I lived in Houston for almost 30 years, and saw snow probably 4 times. It was great for the kiddos, not great for those on the road and people dealing with freezing pipes bursting in their ceilings.

Living here in Colorado now, I have a whole new appreciation (hatred) for snow, and really cold weather.

That little glaze you get when you get 1/2” of snow is worse than the heavier snows. It hits the pavement, melts and quickly refreezes into a sheet of ice. Once it’s ice, all bets are off. Better to get 3-4 inches because then at least it stays snow and you can get some traction.

When you get snows like you get up there where it’s measured in feet is a whole ‘nother deal...

We've got a dusting so far in VA, suppose to snow on into Saturday night. Went to work and did the usual things today no need to panic

My first duty station was Misawa AB in Northern Japan. I remember the snow being so deep, we cold open a window in the day room on the 1st floor of the dorm we lived in and stick our bear bottles/cans in the snow to keep it cold while we played pool or watched TV
