2011 Camaro v6 vs 2006 mustang gt

Hey guys just wanted to see how I would do at the track against a stock 2006 mustang gt in the quarter. My mods are as follows: 2011 v6 ls a6

Plenum spacer
Ported throttle body
Portted intake manifold
Rx manifold spacer
Vararm ram intake
Trifecta tuned
Obx long tube headers
Magnaflow res x pipe
Flowmaster axle back

Future Xmas (mace cams 40-50 rwhp and little less torque)
Rx 3200 stall

The 2006 Ford Mustang GT 4.6L V8 runs 0-60 mph 5.1 Quarter mile 13.5 @ 103.6 mph (Motor Trend)

The 11 Camaro Auto ran 0-60 6.1 and quarter mile 14.5 sec @ 98.2 mph(Motor Trend, Feb. 2011)

Unfortunately, I think he is going to take you though. On the V6 Fast list the quickest is a 13.42 and that is with just about the same mods as you + Drag radials and skinnies.

1. 13.420 @ 103.22 - ROD1 - A6 - (DRs/Skinnies, Injen CAI, ARH Longtubes/High Flow Cats, SS Axle Back, Trifecta Tune) (LLT)

- I hope you win though!

If you take all of the various 05-09 Mustang GT magazine tests over the years, they average out to more like 13.7-13.8 in stock form. So that would be the threshold you are looking to beat at a minimum.

Results at your local track may vary. Have you been to the track yet?

only thing is... it is very RARE to see a typical owner be able to pull those kinds of times! I've have seen PLENTY of 05-09 Mustangs run, and in stock form they are pretty much a low 14 second car... especially if you are talking stock on a test and tune day..

My thoughts are this, assuming you both get a decent launch I think he will pull on you at first but I think you have a chance to pull out the win. Should be a drivers race really.

If one of you messes up the launch, that person will lose.

If hes modded, well then he should have the win.

Fair enough, I did mention that results at your local track may vary. If your DA is ~ 2000ft then I would definitely see how low 14s are the norm for what you've seen.

EDIT: I saw that you run at Lapeer Dragway. From what I could find, the DA is usually 1500-2000 ft. I promise I'm not stalking you I just saw your prefect reaction time video just after I posted this.

Actually even with lower DA's I've seen GT's still struggle to get into the 13s... We are talking 100% stock, including street tires, which means driver can have a hard time hooking... and since we are talking 100% stock, that usually means the owner is probably very new to drag racing... so you factor the driver into the equation... see where I'm going?

Yeah, right now DA at Lapeer can be anywhere from 1500 to 3000 ft. Although by the time we get to start running, the temps are up. However Lapeer does stay open until the end of November, so we do see some negative DAs...

But... I've seen a LOT of 05-09 Mustangs run in a LOT of different place... from Michigan to Florda... From Maryland to Oklahoma...
