New product from Gforce Engineering - Billet pinion yokes
Gforce Engineering is proud to announce that we now have our billet pinion yokes available for the Camaro and G8 rears.
The new pinion yokes are machined from billet 4340 and use the big 1350 series u-joints. This is the same billet pinion yoke that we will supply with our Camaro and G8 driveshafts. The Camaro and G8 pinion yokes are interchangable. With our billet pinion yokes, swapping to a race transmission like a TH400 or 4L80 is very easy. Just bolt on our billet pinion yoke and have your favorite driveshaft builder make you a driveshaft or give us a call as we can also supply your driveshaft. Thanks Chris @ Gforce |

Wow! Those look nice - are they heat treated? What kind of coating/plating are on those things?

We normally coat all our parts in an aerospace process called black e-coat but that line went down so we went with our yellow zinc back up coating process. Thanks Chris |

My new billet pinion yokes have arroused the interest of a few driveshaft companies, maybe there will be more driveshaft options here real soon.

Oh yea, I have it worked out. It's not so much of a problem with 4340 and 300m materials as it is with chromoly.
The temp and process also has alot to do with it. Thanks Chris |

It's a problem with any carbon alloy steel hardened above 39 Rc including 4340, 300M, Maraging, etc. Just ask the engineers that work on landing gear over at Boeing. A very special and lengthy baking process immediately after plating must be done - even then there is still a concern of hydrogen embrittlement. This is why you will never see plated high strength bolts from a reputable manufacturer.
