The autobahn is a superior road, and germany has superior drivers, licensing, and inspection policies and procedures in place. Such a thing in the us would do nothing but get people killed.

Nice. I got a 91 in a 70 passing a truck, in Michigan reduced to 75 in a 70 with traffic school... No points, $350, and 2 hours... Definitely not worth it for passing a truck

Unless you put a test and licensing procedures in place that prevented alot of ****ing idiots from getting licenses that shouldn't have them.

it can be done... it just that we hand licenses away like breath mints. Anyone and their mother can have one regardless of actual skill.

What he says is true, I was stationed in Germany for two years, thier drivers are required to go thru drivers training, which makes ours look like a joke, and it costs them 1000s of EUROs. (not sure about amount but in low 1000's) they are required to have so many hours under different driving conditions before they can get thier license. This makes the majority very good drivers...when I was there one of the most dangerous roads in germany was a small 10 mile stretch from one U.S. base (where housing was located) to the primary base, all american accidents/fatalities.

but i was stationed thier in 2000-2002

I was at court for a reckless driving (over 80) in virgina on a highway. The guy before me was there for reckless driving on a motorcycle...which caused an accident. He had a lawyer and walked out with a $700 fine and supervision.

Me...no lawyer....$1800 fine and 6 month suspension....with a lying cop who changed around everything from what he told me when he pulled me over. Thanks great legal system.
Holy shit, what was the speed limit? Have you been busted on this before? I heard that VA was a bitch when it came to speeding but thats ridiculous.

speeding 137/55- dismissed
reckless- pleaded down to careless no points, small fine, aggressive driver class
speeding 60/45- dismissed
speeding 77/70- dismissed
now i got a new 1 speeding 43/35 and you damn well know im paying him his $150. statistics show above 75% win rate on tickets when lawyer used.

The points system has been around as long as I can remember, you get a moving violation you get points and a fine. Get enough points and your license gets revoked (12 points in 2 years in MD). There's more headaches before you get to 12 but thats pretty much the top. Insurance companies get to see your points too, more points more expensive the insurance. Points stay on your license I think 3 years.

So you've gotten 5 tickets already?

Some states don't have a point system. Texas is one of them but I have lived in states that assessed points and it will cost ya.

That makes perfect sense. I grew up in D/FW and have only lived in WA for 8 years. Pretty sure they do not have this in WA. Or I would have heard of it already. Especially since I work with LEOs from time to time. Not that I have had too many tickets here. But, When I grew up in D/FW I used James Mallory in Fort Worth to get my traffic tickets resolved. It used to only cost me $36 back in the '80s. Later on the City's began to catch on and started imposing probaton fees to get rid of tickets. So it would cost the $36+ $150 probation fee. Still saved thousands in insurance premiums and fines over the years. To go this route in WA is outrageously expensive from what little research I have done. However, if it's important to you to keep your driving record clean. This service could be priceless.
