Hydrographics Durability On Exterior Pieces

I'm considering this, but I'm afraid the first road debris I come into contact with, the coating will chip/scratch and start peeling. The Z is a DD, so durability is highly desired. Also, how well does it stand up to UV exposure... anyone experiencing fading issues?

Has anyone done this to their ground effects, bumpers, grills, etc.? Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

I'm conflicted. I want to buy CF parts, but the weight difference doesn't justify the cost difference. I guess being authentic is the only difference here.

I've had this on about two months. Although not a DD it sits in the CA sun a bit. Nice clear-coat finish, no fading and overall, I'm happy with it...so far. I know that doesn't really answer all your concerns. By the way, those spots you see are things on the garage ceiling reflecting back, not imperfections in the part.

The guy that did the parts on my car, also does motorcycles and four wheelers, without any problems.

What parts have you had done? How long have they been on the car and how often do you drive it? Any current pictures of how they look? I'm mainly interested in front bumper parts and side skirts.

I have hydrodipped graphics on all kinds of hunting and camping gear and it holds up to quite a bit of abuse.. Far more than you're ever going to heap on your car. (hopefully)

I had my heritage grill hydro dipped in a carbon fiber design. All good so far.

Any Houston, or Texas recommendations? I googled Houston, but nothing came up. Seems there are plenty in Dallas, but that's a good drive up north.

How long is the turnaround on these? Would it be possible to have it all done in one day?

Even clear coated hydro-dipped pieces have a modest life expectancy.

Well then who ever did your hydro job something wasn't prepared right or the sheet of CF was bad. I've had mine on 6 years and not a problem yet.

Not really to much time in the prep work.

I live in Arizona, 8 hrs in sun and heat a day. I have had two separate pieces of dipped peel, Bought from different places. The CF all has held up well, and I have more pieces of CF than dipped. I could see dipped on the interior. But real CF also looks so much better.
