I LOVE GM vehicles, and particularly Chevy's, but would buy any GM vehicle if I had the $$...Hopefully, one day, soon enough, a 5th Gen CAMARO! Dave_O

They don't know what the problem is, or they don't want to admit it.

Defineatly. Alarm bells went off when I heard that they blamed it on floormats. And now they're saying is a pedal that possibly sticks, maybe sometimes on occasion. At least thats more believable but I still don't buy it.

The Toyota fly-by-wire throttle consists of the throttle pedal which contains the Throttle Pedal sensors, the ecm, and the throttle body which uses an electric motor to drive the throttle and a throttle position sensor to give feedback to the ecm to verify the throttle responded to the ecm's command. Don't have the schematics in front of me, but most systems use two sensors in the throttle pedal and both have to agree on position for a valid throttle input. A failure in either sensor results in a CEL and no throttle response.

Yeah, the whole floor mat, pedal mechanical problem just don't seem plausible to me. We have replaced a couple of Toyota throttle bodies where I work, but they always set a code and went into limp-in mode. I think Toyota has a problem that isn't showing up on data stream, and they don't have a clue what to replace.

Toyota used to be the most reliable car company.. Now they cannot ever make that claim ever again..
