Nope, because most people with 40K+ will buy a Vette. IMHO

Ask the question. Will GM make a nice profit from it? If they can't then it's not gonna happen in this environment. Some of this super modding is best left to the aftermarket anyway. That way GM does not have to worry about cost of design, promotion, supply etc for what would be a small production run. A smart idea might be for GM to partner with an aftermarketer so they can just ship them SS's and the partner worries about all the mods and costs.

I'm thinking an ideal Z28 would be kinda like the NISMO 350Z. Lightweight wheels, optimized aerodynamics, etc. Include a few engine mods to get a slight hp bump, super performance tires, full reconfigurable performance/gauge display, lightweight Recaro seats, and lightening where feasible for a reasonable price.

sounds like a pretty costly and timely camaro. painted on stripes??? i dont know anyone who paints on stripes from the factory and more. i think they did that in the day because they didnt have the kind of vinyl and decals we do now. sounds like a good car though. i like the more aggressive cam idea.

Regarding the super performance tires - why hasn't GM done this more? I know they're using PS2s on the 'Vettes and CTS-Vs (I think) so why have they been SO stuck to Goodyear? I get tired of reading about the GTR being that much better than Z06 but I wonder how much that has to do with tires, for example. I really think better performance tires should be in the mix, as suggested

Marketing on Goodyears part. When they sell GM a $200 tire for $10. Goodyear takes the chance people will outfit their cars with OEM tires costing full retail when they need to be replaced.

Sorry to say, I am not. My Run-flats are hard and loud. My RSAs and F1 SC only lasted 1/2 of their adversited life.

Even if GM made a Z it wouldn't push 600 right?
Damn I love the LS3

their a soft tire. thats why they didnt last long. i had pirelli p zeros on my car and i got 10,000miles out of them. id still buy them but they didnt last long. a sticky tire wont last long, a hard tire will have longer life. depends what you want , performance or long term. its hard to ride the line between those 2.
