hydroplaning? were cars crashing left and right??? I see no standing water on the one street... sounds like driver error to me.

I wouldn't be surprised if your insurance will double/triple... maybe you should consider a Malibu????

i can tell you many a cars ive towed that the damage wasnt totally destroyed...but th ecost for a insurance company to replace the airbags, sensors, modules, clocksprings, etc etc..is EXPENSIVE ..some anywhere 4000-9000
THEY will total a vehicle because it it. HAPPENS ALOT...

just sayin'
been around it all my life.. its worse now..the threshhold for a total use dto be 75% of ACVR..

now its Way Way Lower... 60 % or lower

looks totaled to me. It will never be worth owning it if they fix it.

Damn, over in the US cars must be labeled "totaled" left and right. Over here it only happens if the repair costs exceed 60-70% of the car value. Whatever way I look at it, I highly doubt there's $25-$30k worth of damage to the front end.

Sensors over here must be a lot more sensitive in that case. I've had airbags open once while I was a passenger and the driver rear ended another car at a stop sign in the wet. Airbags deployed but damage to the front was far from substantial...

cars are made so the fenders sheer off in a bad crash and the front end crumples to absorb the impact. From what I see its not a total as you did not appear to have messed up the frame.

Well this just sucks to see. But, thankfully you weren't hurt and seem to be in good spirits. Hopefully this'll get resolved soon and you can get back to representing the brand in Europe.

you would need F1 rain tires. those sticks on the road. what brand are they? bridgestone or pirelli??

or don't go too fast when it's raining....

at least you got all your parts-you're not hurt--

the car ; it's only steel.

Well got a word back from the service. Chassis is in 100% condition. Engine is in 100% condition. Drivetrain, suspension, wheels, everything is in 100% condition. Only major damage is to the front end frame which will probably be replaced and the interior where all airbags deployed, so full dash replacement and hood lining along with all airbags. So at the end of the day, it looked much worse than it actually was Now the wait begins. And boy will it be a long one. All repairs can be done within a week but I'll have to sit on my ass and wait months for the parts to arrive from the US
