Clutch? I was rippin thru the gears......
I have about 200 miles on my car and I'm trying to break it in so this is what I did....
At as stop light, I ripped into it (no rubber), but when I got close to redline and was going to shift, it felt like the whole engine just stopped, or the clutch came loss. It kind freaked me out, but I was able to shift to second gear. I haven't had the problem again, but it was kinda weird.... Any ideas? |

U hit red line, the motor pretty much shuts down when you hit it.

Yes, revlimiter
You don't want to disable it. You've already proven out it's very useful nature, over-revving isn't just numbers on a gauge, there's a risk of damage What makes you think tearing the guts out of it is the correct break-in procedure?

All i can say is that I have done a lot of research and lot's of people have great results putting a load on the engine early. 6-10 load runs every other day etc...

Your research is what lots of people say? Respectfully, why don't you pay attention to the suggestions of the people that designed and built the engine?

I heard to break a engine in just as u would drive it day to day.
Ive seen motors pop both ways. Luck of the draw and common sense IMO. |

I've been doing this nonsense for 30 years in every car I have and with every engine I build and I've never lost an engine. Just do what works. If you want to drive it like granny then do it, just don't knock what others do that are time proven methods.
