Why Did You Choose Automatic Over Manual?
For those of you who have the automatic transmission, why did you choose it over the manual?

Haven't ordered yet but I'm getting the automatic because I live in california in a lot of traffic which would frustrate me with a manual.

because a stalled auto kills a manual at the strip every time

I drove manual cars most of my life. But after driving a stick for over 2 decades, and that this car is daily driven, I went with the auto. This was not an easy decision. I knew exactly what options I wanted with this car, but it was a long and hard decision on transmission.
IMO, if this is not a daily driver, definitely get the manual!

I bought an auto because I do 110 miles a day round trip. This car is my daily driver. One stretch of road can take me 40 minutes to go 15 miles. My last car was a six speed manual (Infiniti G35 coupe), and towards the end of my ownership of the car, I dreaded that stretch of road. Everyone has opinions of manual vs. auto, but at the end of the day, choose what works in your situation and don't let others tell you that you made a bad decision.

automatic was not an option for me. this is actually the first manual car i've ever owned and driven. I've been driving motorcycles for years and i've used one of my friend's manual car to freshen up on my skills so i'm confident enough to kick ass once that baby gets here.
can't wait to get my hands on that beast. |

I've had both manuals and automatics.
I had a manual 05 GTO and an automatic 06 GTO. I've had both in LS1 and LT1 z28s. For me the automatic is the way to go because its a daily driver and weekend track car. The manual is fun, but the automatic makes a better daily driver. And you can always play with the tapshifts on the automatic if you feel the need to shift the car (even though I personally don't like the tap shifts). But if you're on the fense, you might want to get the manual. Most guys that can't make up their minds really want a manual. I've had plenty of manuals in my past and I'm now an automatic guy. I knew I wanted the automatic and never thought twice about it. |

I drive 60 miles round trip to work in crappy traffic. More often than not if I look at the average speed after a day's commute, it doesn't get above 30-35MPH. No regrets for getting Auto.

I did pick a manual when I first placed my order however the more I thought about it I changed my mind. As we get older we get aches and pains in werid places and I thought it would be bad if I my leg or knee would later give me problems later down the road. But hey with the tap shift we can still have fun.
