1st time at the track after new mods...

I just got my car back from the lethal performance in San Antonio, and I'm planning on taking my car tomorrow to the track. For now, I'm using the stock tires. Do you guy have any tips? I`ve been racing for a while now but never with a 585 whp car. I was planning on taking off the line with the car at around 2500 rpms and sleeping the clutch a bit until the tires hook for better traction. The one think I'm not 100% sure is the tire pressure, I thinking of running the car with the rear tires at 22 psi.

Any additional tips or suggestions you guys might have please let me know...

Thanks!!!

I read 25LBs is about right for the stock tires. Someone went with 22 and it slowed them down.

I'm worried about traction with 585 rwhp and for now I'm sticking with the stock tires... I really can't afford rear axle shafts at the moment...

Be careful not to over heat your clutch. You will have problems if you do. Don't expect much with running the stock tires and that much HP.

your idea is on the right track Carlos, just don't "sleep" the clutch too much, LOL!! once you get it moving, put the throttle to the floor. The key here is a "soft" launch. PM me if you need some tips

Probably not what you want to hear but it's a total waste of time on the stock tires. Try all the different pressures you want. Just not going to work. I do wish you the best of luck. I'll be staying tuned.

It's not a TOTAL waste of time, some people actually want to know a baseline ET of the "street version" of their car...

there really is no baseline when you cannot get out the hole..unless your measuring wheel spin on a sc...i was going same route 1st week i had sc, tried a few launches on decent asphalt and concrete just to see if it was worth the 2hr round trip ..my conclusion , not worth it ..not only was getting out the hole a problem , speed shfting @ 6k was all over the road.....get some drs

Thanks for the great advice guys... The one think that's holding me back on buying DRs is my rear axle shafts. How strong are the stock axle shafts? What is the weak link in the camaros power train?

If I buy a new suspension, axles and tires to my car, my wifes going to kick me out...

Thanks for the good wishes... braking the GT Devils record would be awesome, but I doubt it will happen with stock tires and around 3500 DA...
