Jump starting a car with the 5th gen
So I come out to my car yesterday, and the guy parked next to me has a dead battery. He asked me if I could help him jump his beater. I obliged, knowing how to jump a car but never having done it with the Camaro. So I popped the hood, expecting to find the battery, but then remembered it was under the spare in the trunk, and thought there had to be an easier way.
I found the positive terminal under the hood, as it was pretty noticeable, but I had to consult the manual to find where the negative was in the engine compartment. Turns out it is a stub on the drivers side that protrudes out ever so slightly from the lip of the fender. I haven't seen a thread on this, then again I never really looked, but just made this one FYI.

I had to rescue my mom yesterday in a parking structure downtown Vegas.
I already knew about the positive post and was looking around for a ground connection, just a few seconds later I spotted the little ground stub sticking out from the side, this is the first car I ever owned that had that, I was a bit impressed, my mom was a bt confused as to why her PT Cruiser didnt have that as well. Another note for jumping other cars- always make it a habit to NOT have your car running when you are jumping another car, I never even have the keys in the ignition when I do it. If there is anything wrong with the car you are helping, there is a chance their trouble code can transfer to your car and through a "check engine" light in your car, dont ask me how I know this. If their car cannot get started after the initial turn overs, then there is a lot more wrong with it then just a dead batttery. Luckilly my moms car was just dead from her leaving her lights on
