Um...no. Give me big rims and big spoilers any day over that. To fake a convertible is just plain wrong esp on this type of car.

It's called a sim con in the aftermarket world.... Used to put those on just about every kind of car imaginable.

not sure what the owner was going for? I heard you can still find dealers in central America where they add padded roofs?

Holy cow is that ugly, why would you want the look of a drop top without the benefits of one?

That is truly fugly, I like some classic muscle cars w/vinyl roofs but never the fake convertible top, truly a nasty look!

Ok, there are several tops that were popular in the '70s. From the top,
1. There was the convertable, Cadillacs and Lincolns had these mostly. 2. Then there was the leather padded roof, like that Lincoln; Cadillacs may have had these, can't remember. 3. The Landau roof Dodge was big into this. Can't remember who else had these. This was for a car that didn't have a convertable, this was made to look like a convertable. Hopfully some of you greybeards can remember who had what, I can't because I had to look away fast. Troy Lawson |
