I forgot to add that the interior of the latest GTO looks much better than the current Camaro. The leather and the clusters seem more refined and better placed. Again, JMHO

No regrets in trading my '06 M6, other than a superior interior and the 200mph speedo. Handling sucked as well as braking. I don't understand all this reference to a Grand Am though. Must be coming from people who only saw pictures of one. It actually looked more like an '03 Grand Prix, especially from the front. For the OP, the Camaro is hands down superior in exterior styling, handling, and braking with more available creature comforts, especially when comparing to an '04 with a 5.7L 350HP, tailpipes on the same side? (EPA caused that to happen), and sans hood scoops. In the goat's defense, there were only about 40k built in 3 years, whereas in a another year you won't be able to swing a dead cat around without hitting a Camaro.

I have both. I like my Camaro, but I love my GTO.

Someone above mentioned exclusivity, you just don't see many GTO's. I like that. I get more thumbs up now than I did when it was new.

You know how you always hear guys saying "man I wish I had never sold that one"? My GTO is my "that one".

By now there are probably more black '10-'11 Camaro's than all three years of GTO.

Which GTO was a sports car? I thought MGs were sports cars.

I own both. The gto to me was underappreciated b/c of the "lack of styling". I looked at them as a blank canvas.

Just adding wheels and lowering them makes a HUGE difference!

As far as interior goes. The seats in the GTO are FAR better than the camaro in just quality of leather alone. They also are much more supportive. The rest is subjective.

I loved my GTO but its like comparing apples and oranges. My 2010 Camaro is modern and sleek. My 67 GTO was all raw Horse Power, quick, fun to drive and a true muscle car but was not a good daily driver especially in hot weather. The Camaro is better on gas, handling and more comfortable to drive in all kinds of weather. Again apples and oranges.

Whew! I had to come up for air 3 times reading that sentence. I could imagine what it was like to write it. I agree with your assessment though.

I bought my 05 because of the 400 ponies not the looks. I actually at the time could not get my hands on a 05 Mustang GT because of the demand or I would have bought one. After getting my GTO I was so impressed with the interior and quality. All I can say is what everyone else knows... it was lacking in the looks department.

Bottom Line... NO REGRETS

I went from '05 CGM GTO to '10 RY 2SS. No regrets at all. My car before that was a 2001 Z28. I drove both the Z28 and the GTO to about 60k. The GTO was starting to fall apart quicker...lots of little interior annoyances (leather was coming apart at the top of the rear seats, leather split right on the seam of the driver's seat, velour on the door started coming off, that crappy "brushed metal-look" vinyl they covered the steering wheel with was bubbling virtually from day 1. I think the SS will age more gracefully...

I also hated the GTO's suspension and had MAJOR tire wear issues right away, including uneven tire wear regardless of inflation, and inside wear on the sidewall from strut-rub. I bought the whole JHP suspension set but it's still in a box in my living room because I decided to trade up instead, lol.

It's all about looks and having the newest toy. I loved my Brazen Orange Metallic GTO. Wish I could have kept both.
