What good is money in your pocket with no Permagrin.
That is what you get with a hybrid.

lol... I didn't buy the SS for fuel mileage. I came from a truck that got 8mpg highway and I'm about to buy an old diesel and lift it. I'd expect 12mpg from that. The Camaro's MPG is great for what it is. Modern engines putting out 400 horses and still getting over 20mpg is quite the feat in my eyes. The Camaro stays.

Yeah, my Camaro isn't going anywhere. It gets better than my truck also. Looks like it will be time to make some cuts somewhere else or sign up for more overtime at work.

E85 will eat through your plastic/rubber fuel components eventually FYI. The SS does not have the proper parts for E85. It'll burn it, but it'll corrode your parts. I don't think it harms the engine block itself though. I could be wrong.

I work from home so rising gas prices have less of an impact on me as they do to many others. In fact my SS got 25.0mpg at 70 to 75mph going to and returning from the MTI Talladega road course event 10/10/2010. Of course my on track time yielded significantly lower mileage numbers . However, the overall trend of the last decade of stagnate wages and rising energy and health care costs affect us all adversely. The American taxpayer has finally been spread too thin, I'm sick and tired of my tax dollars going everywhere on this globe except home. Stop telling me I spend/consume too much as I live well within my means. Washington needs to implement what the rest ( or most of us ) do, balance the national check book.

1. Oh and the Gov makes more per gallon off gas than the bad old oil companies. And the Gov does it with no investment and/or risk.

2. Oh and profit is required for companies to have employees (read jobs for you and me)

It won't change anything for me. It's cheaper than the truck, if I don't stand on it.

+10,000,000

Also note that the nasty profits made by the gov't for doing nothing are invariably passed through a maze of agencies and beaurocracies (each taking a cut for themselves) and eventually what is left is spent on some program which likely harms the typical consumer or goes against his will.

Graft and corrpution are the norm for any unelected beaurocracy.
