Roush428R

I have it in writing signed by the General Sales Manager, refundable deposit and to be bought at MSRP.

If I knew I couldn't win I'd probably be magnanimous and give 6 lengths too. That way I would at least appear to be a charitable person.

But i have seen many races and the car getting 6 lengths was not the winner.

I have no problem admiting that the 2006-2009 gt-500 will probaly be faster than the camaro SS in a straight line, But on a race track I bet the camaro will murder the GT-500. I ran a 2007 GT-500 on the track, and I was not impressed, basicaly it is good for drag raceing and not so good at anything else.

Agree, they did fix that with th KR but come on the dealers are getting $100K +. I posted earler that the GT500 was for going stright. Thats why i bought a Roush, try catching that on the track with the Camaro.

has anyone looked at the Sticker on these?
It says right on the window sticker it is not street legal.
I dont even see how the dealers can sell these.

Not really. See, once the magazine test results are in for the Camaro SS, I'm going to pick the results of one test (most certainly the one that best supports whatever position I plan to express) and use that as the undisputed baseline of what the Camaro will and will not do performance-wise.

Once I've done that, I can then find all the instances of where someone was able to wring out a similar time from a 2010 Mustang GT and verbalize to everyone how slow the Camaro is despite its better hp/tq numbers as compared to the Mustang.

That's the way things roll on the internet, don't you know?.

No, they're not. They're asking $100K, not getting $100K. I know of at least 3 KR's within an hour of my house that someone could take home for msrp (or maybe less?). I'll never know, because even at msrp, it's way more money than I am willing to pay to get one in my garage.

No problem, see post #82 about the mods I am planning, Onced I have finished no car with a pony logo will be able to touch me on the track. I bet the total amount of money I will spend will be less than what you paid for that roush of yours to boot.

What Co is making chassis kits for the Camaro? Does Chevy have a tuner like Roush that you guys can get good tested parts from? Your going to have to do something with the weight, I did read with the driver the Camaro is balanced front to rear almost 50/50.

No dispute in each trim level the Camaro rules in price and performance. It's all about how much $$$$ you fork out. GM & Ford compete at Trim and Price. Sorry but you can't compare a 50k Roush with a 31K SS. Kick A$$ Roush BTW, but I think I'll wait for the 48K Z28.

I can't wait to see the modified SS Camaros. No doubt Truth411 will get there and at less cost too.

LOL I knew this thread was going there. Isn't it great!

I haven't had a chance to get on a road course against a Roush yet, but the last time I drag raced one in my GT500 (when it was stock) this was the outcome. This pic is from about 100ft out. I had the Roush by 4-5 cars by the end of the race. (1/8th mile).
