You started stirring the pot, so I'll help it along... I owned a ZL1 and can definitely say the Z/28 is better in every way (for me), except power (but Z/28 is no slouch). I've also driven a Charger Hellcat. Tons of power, but no way I would've traded my ZL1 for it. The 662 HP GT500 is a beast. Having never driven one, I can't give an informed opinion so I'll give an opinion based on deductive reasoning..when I owned a Boss 302 there were a lot opinions floating around that it was the more fun car to drive and the Boss is no match for a Z/28.

In my opinion, without the ZL1 there would be no Z28. If a $55,000 Camaro would have failed to sell well, do you think Chevrolet would have built a $75,000 one? Understand that I would love to have a Z28, but the ZL1 is important in its own right.

The second is of the Z/28 and a 993. When he drives the Z/28 he is giddy. He PERFECTLY portrays the sentiment of owners and first time Z/28 drivers. Giddy! I can show you more examples of reviewers who just get giddy, it's funny and accurate.

Stopped watching "expert" Chis Harris before the 2 minute mark right after he tells his viewers that the ZL1 engine is a de-tuned ZR1 engine from the Corvette.

You are talking about a English guy who is an "expert" on BMW's, Mercedes, Lamborghini's, Land Rover's, Porsche's, etc....everything European and you give him the keys to some American Muscle Cars and this is what he comes up with....which was the most fun? Right - and I agree, we all should all judge our cars ourselves and not just rely on what is published. I think the Z28 is great if a track car is what you are looking for. For me, I wanted power for my daily driver and have no intentions of tracking the car.

Chevy did a great job of putting out two excellent choices in performance cars and I don't understand the need that some fellow members feel they have to put down one to tout the attributes of the other.

Enjoy your Z28, I'll enjoy my ZL1.
