I saw this DIY, printed it, left work and went straight to the nearest dealer to order the parts. John Keating Chevrolet (Crosby Texas) and they told me the parts are not available.

the leather inserts sound way cool...post pics when you get them installed

the light comes from the top part of the trim where there is no paint..(its painted on back) not the front part . not sure sure how the leather is "attached' on the front trim but if it dosent cover the top rim you will have light

So for the synergy edition folks... Our panels glow green even though the blue light is used. If we do the dash abl mode and do not sand the trim pieces will the light color math the doors?

Does anyone know can you just wire both sides of the dash to the one plug on the lest side instead of tearing into the dash to get to the other plug?

I bought some LED's that were blue green from mouser. They were more green than blue. Perhaps these would work.

Yes you can. I had 8 LED's run off of a single plug. Or if you don't want to tear apart the dash, it is real easy to use a quick connect to the purple wire in the passenger side kick panel.

There really is no tearing into the dash. You can have the speedo out in literally 20 seconds as it's only a snap in dash ring and then 4 screws with one plug.

For the earlier pre 50,000 vin models, there's a plug behind it and a plug in the side fuse panel. That I recommend using both and doing two lights off the "behind the speedo" plug (or wire).

Well here's a bit of an update for members with later production cars. My car was built on 5/14/10 and I don't have either of those plugs . I guess my next option is to find out where the door ABL gets powered from and tap into that?

Thanks for any help .

Here's a pick of where I tapped for the ABL mod, you can use any ground. For reference this is the drivers side cable bundle that goes into the car door, picture just above the dead pedal.
