Sketches Of Yellow Camaro Police Impersonators

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Police have released sketches of two men, suspected of impersonating a Columbia Police Officer in a yellow Chevrolet Camaro.

Officials with the Columbia Police Department released the composite sketches Thursday afternoon.

One of the suspects has been described as white male, possibly in his 30s, wearing a baseball cap with brown hair. The other suspect was said to be a black male, also in his 30s, standing about six-feet-tall.

Since February, two men have been preying on unsuspecting drivers in Maury County by pulling the victims over and robbing them.

Detectives said the suspects have been driving a yellow Chevrolet Camaro.

Police said if you're ever pulled over by an unmarked vehicle and you don't feel safe, you should slow down to a safe speed, drive towards a well-lit and populated area and call 911. The operator will be able to tell you if the person trying to pull you over is an actual officer.

Anyone who recognizes the men in the sketches has been asked to call the Columbia Police Department at 931-375-8689.

By the time 911 is able to help you determine if its a real cop these guys would be gone.

Im hoping these guys are all over the news and everyone has heard about this story. It would probably be easier to issue a statement in the county "Dont pull over for yellow Camaros".

You can't do that because all of the legit yellow Camaro cop cars running around.

I find it very difficult to believe that they still can not find these guys. How many yellow Camaros are in this county?

Thats whats really bothering me. Do the county police officers only drive yellow Camaros? Even if they had one or two....stop driving them until they are caught.

yea, as the camaro is speeding off past them while theyre sitting on the side of the road.

im saying when a car comes up behind you, with lights and sirens on...a lot of people arent going to be like "hey! that looks like a Yellow Camaro" they're gonna be like "crap...i can't tell what kind of car that is with all those lights flashing"

If I'm getting "pulled over" by a yellow Camaro in my neighbor state to the north, I'm going to find out if those SOB's can do 180.
