Saw the facebook post but any more info on the cold air intake kit? Pricing etc. I would simply just swap these I assume for my current setup.

Any other pictures installed etc?

Pricing on the website. Not sure about install pictures, not much to see when installed since it is almost all in the fender. Runs the pipe to the fender and puts the filter up high in the fender by the rear view mirror.

I wouldn't waste your money on the cold air kit, its just more crap on your car that isn't necessary. If your worried about water/rain just slide the K&N waterproof covers on the filters.

I have the cold air kit. If nothing else it sounds cool as you can hear air entering the filters.

They definitely sound cool. Makes the turbo noise a lot more pronounced.

Interesting, i was wondering if there was something like this out there (filter covers). It seems they are water repellant and not waterproof. Also restrict flow a bit. But in the driving rain, are you really gonna be in boost????

Only problem is how to get the damn things on if caught on a trip and in an unexpected thunderstorm. Guess you could just park for a while?

I refuse to trailer my car anywhere

I don't know about other kits but the AGP kit filters are pretty damn high up along with the turbos. We purposely drove the car through the biggest puddles we could find. Monsoons here are crazy, water flowing over the curbs. Not a single issue. You would have to try to cross a river and be in 18"+ deep water to have an issue. If someone wanted to do that, first concern would be the water pouring in through the doors but if they wanted then do the cold airs and figure out how to deal with the water pouring into your doors and probably the vent lines on the diff/transmissions too.

Yea, i am familiar with the monsoons you guys can get. I was out at Luke AFB '97-'00.

I am new to turbos....as a matter of fact its still gonna be a few more weeks. No worries there, just get it done right.

I assume the turbos can ingest water splashed up onto the filters, but may have major issues when the filters become partially submerged. Is this correct....or simply, just how much can the turbos deal with if caught out in a good storm.

No worries here in North Texas. I have not been able to wash my car in my driveway for 4 years now. Stage3 and 4 drought restrictions. We cant even turn on our hoses outside now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can hold the covers under the sink & water doesn't pass was through them. Google it, they have videos showing it. Supposedly they don't restrict airflow either.

Yeah, I did google it, long ago. Thanks again for the heads up on this but..............

PreCharger® - The K&N PreCharger is a specially designed filter wrap made to extend the service interval of your K&N Filter when used in very dusty conditions. They are made from durable polyester material containing uniform micron openings. The PreCharger will stop small dirt particles; yet add little restriction to the airflow of the filter. The PreCharger is designed to be run dry and can be cleaned with K&N Filter Cleaner. The PreCharger is custom made to fit each application. Double stitched elastic openings assure that the PreCharger will stay in place. The PreChargers are available in a variety of colors.

DryCharger® - K&N DryChargers are manufactured from a durable polyester material and are pre-treated with a proprietary hydrophobic process designed to prevent splashes of water or mud from saturating your K&N air filter. The DryCharger will also stop small dirt particles; yet add little restriction to the airflow of the filter. Please be aware the DryCharger is water repellent, not water proof. Depending on conditions and usage the water repellent treatment is good for 1 to 2 years.

Universal DryCharger filter wrap material - K&N's DryCharger material can be used to make a filter wrap for sizes that are not currently available. This material is designed to prevent splashes of water or mud from saturating your K&N air filter. It will also stop small dirt particles while adding little restriction to the airflow of the filter. Visit K&N's Universal DryCharger Filter Wrap Material page for more information.

Thanks again for this heads up. I can rest easier now!

Although, ask Andy on the chances of it raining here in North TX!!!!!

Truth in advertising? Good on em if so! I will carry a pair in my trunk just in case. As well as a pair of race ramps.

You can never be over prepared. I live by the 6Ps

Still no need on the AGP kit unless you are crossing rivers.

Lethal just made 900rwhp/920rwtq on 11.2psi on twin 56s with pump/meth. Not bad at all.

The turbos are low mounted, and I'm sure the inlet of the turbo is much lower than 18"

Any pictures Ive seen, they look very low.

it may take very wet conditions or a large puddle of water before it would ever be a major concern, but IMO it would be a LOT less than 18" if the air filters are mounted directly to the turbos.

And even if they werent, I wouldnt be keen on dunking a hot turbo into water even if water couldnt get ingested.

And I'm saying this after mounting my own turbos very low, and I live somewhere it rains a lot.

Just need to use common sense when very wet roads or conditions are involved.
