for the love of god why do people cover their licence plates?
Do you drive around out on the streets with them covered? So the thousands and thousands of people on the road do not have the magic ability to do magical things with the plate number like the internet people?

You can't do anything about your plate when you are driving around so if someone local wanted to find out where you live they could just look you up. That's my reasoning behind covering it up. Piece of mind I guess |

Do you even lift, bro?

I'll play: Blacked out everything; tails; bezels; side markers; reverse lights...and threw in a more aggressive spoiler and some vanity plates:

With the Camaro it is not an issue as there are 250K+ on the road (est for 10-12), but 14 years ago when I had an Integra Type R that was one of about 3400 in the country over a 5 year period it was a legitimate concern. Every jack monkey with a civic knew that every single piece of the ITR would transfer over to their 92-00 Civic. The ITRs were getting stolen left and right. There was even a forum on the site dedicated to stolen ITRs..NOW the anti-theft could be overridden by opening the passenger door, pulling a panel off, plugging in an older Honda ECU and popping the key cylinder and driving away. Fortunately the technology has improved over the years and it is harder to steal a modern car...unless they tow it. But now they dump it for a day or so two to see if On-star tracks it before they come back to move it and part it out. Sorry for the Off-Topic......but that is a little lesson on why people cover their plates......I did not as I am not worried. Matt
