217025 here are the last 6 digits of my vin. What number am I? I can't be number 217025 they can I ? Thanks. I believe I am number 117025

i thought to find out the number produced you were you look at the last five of your vin. If im right you should be 17,025

serial numbers started at 100000 so when use see 217025 you are actually #117025 made camaro

Glad I slipped into this thread! I had thought they started at 000000 with the Serial numbers so for the longest time I figured I was 198,742....glad to hear I'm actually only 98,742

Actually, the FIRST car was 100001. So subtract 100000 from your last 6 and that's what sequence your car was built. Makes it a whole lot easier to find out with just one plant building them.

They've ALWAYS sequentially numbered their cars like that. For at least 40 years or so. If they had more than one plant, they'd designate different starting points, such as 100001-299999 at one plant, and 300001-499999 at another, for example. That doesn't mean they'd actually build that many, just vin allocations. But the plant number/letter would be different so it would change the vin anyway.

I was told it's the last 5 numbers after the one. And they only made 100,000
