If M6 3.91 is popular. Might find more info by posting/searching in this section:

I did the 3.91 ratio in my 2010 ss. I should have gone with the 4.10 ratio. The RPM at 70mph is at 1800 in 6th gear with a 29.3" tall tire. BUT... from a standing start the 3.91 ratio takes a little time to get up in high rpm range..... it sure is a huge performance upgrade.

It is best to buy the Chevrolet Performance kit from your dealer. It includes all the components needed including the speedo cal, and best of all when it is installed by the dealership it preserves your factory warranty.
I had the 3.91 kit installed in my personal Camaro and I love the results! You will definitely feel the difference. Get more info below for the 3.91 kit as well as other cool stuff for your Camaro. And the best part is these components were designed, engineered and validated by the same team that developed your Camaro so you know they're the best. And when installed by your dealer many of these components are backed by Chevrolet and preserve your factory warranty. http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/camaro-parts.html |

I would love to get the 3.91 gear ratio, for my L99. That will be first mod.

I think 3.91 is a good balance

I have the 3.91 and I love it. I've driven a car with the 4.11 and I think it's too much.
If you have plans to supercharge the car the 3.91 is probably too much. Other than that I think the 3.91 is the perfect gear.

Just my opinion but I think these cars are heavy and need a lot of gear to get em going. If a set of 4.30s were available for the same cost as a set of the 3.91s I wouldn't hesitate to put them in.
For the average person that doesn't see a lot of drag strip time 3.91s are a good balance of price vs performance.

I have the 3.91 and am very happy. I don't know that I would want the 4.11 because it would make first gear almost useless (assuming you have a 6 speed).

I think 3.91's are a great street car gear, I love my car with them.

I love my 3.91 gear swap, wish I would have done it way sooner. There is lots and lots of info on gear changes in the motor forum.

3.91s in my L99 are awesome! I start in second gear more often than not, unless I want to show off.
