I received my 8x12 Indy track photo today. It looks like it was mailed out 11/20. Now I kind of feel bad that I got anxious and sent an email 11/22 asking about the status. If I had just waited a few more days...
Thanks to the organizers of the event! One of these days I've got to work on getting the front end to sit down more. After new coil and leaf springs, it is riding kind of high. |

I wouldn't blame the post office....took over two months to get mine. That's not a post office issue...that's the mailers issue.

I got mine about a week ago. I wanted to thank whoever it was that took the pictures. I wish things could have been done alittle differently though. From what I understand the track is very strict on time allowances it makes since it is always doing tours and whatnot. My wish would have been to have a shot of the cars coming off one of the turns in a group like a previously done photo at Indy. In our circumstances multiple shots from different vantage points may have worked better. The shot we got as well as a wider shot maybe showing your car in with your approaching line up in a wider view. Dont get me wrong. I am happy to have a picture from Indy but maybe if we do it again we could work with the track to allow alittle more time and more points for pictures to be taken. At least that way we could have more pictures from points we could not get ourselves. Just alittle more choices.
I am sure this was a large undertaking for all who arranged it. I am very happy to have had the chance to be there. I would like to take the time to thank everyone who tried so hard to put this together for us. Maybe there will be another bash at Indy or where ever. Who knows....maybe it will be sunny for the pictures that day. |

I thank them too.
However, I agree that there were better ways to do this. The first point I brought up was the way they took our information cards. They didn't specify that all the info was needed on the card. I filled mine out entirely, but there are others who didn't. On top of that, the way picked up the order forms really messed it up for them. They wanted gaps between the cars as they entered the track. Well, as the cars enter the track, they should have had someone standing there to pick them up.....in order. Every car would have been in order and they could have EASILY matched up which pic belonged to whom. As the pix printed in order, the folks could have just walked them down the line of order forms. Don't get me wrong. I appreciate all that they did too. I just hope that next time, they accept more thought on how to undertake this project to make it as easy on them as possible. Apparently, there was one member of their group who told them to do this and someone made the decision not to listen. Hey...I got my picture and I"m happy. Thanks to the Indy folks again. |
