Effects of disabling on star?
I want to disable onstar, but first want to find out if any other systems will be affected. Will airbags still work? Check engine lights? What else should I know?

Yea everything will still work..i have the scosche kit(however you spell it) and i had to disable the onstar because I didnt buy the adapter and everything works fine.

I'm doing the same thing with a new nex. So there are no effects whatsoever? Don't feel like I need to keep throwing away money on the ONSTAR...

wouldn't pulling the On-Star Fuse ( F14 ) do the same??

Pulling the fuse, I think will disable On-star but also the voice recognition.

I believe if you pull the fuse it will also disable the compass.

I need to disable this shit as well - only way to do it is to press the Onstar button and cancel live with a person from what I understand.
