Installing lowering springs, DIY or take it to a shop?

I have seen some youtube videos, and it seems that the spring is under very light tension, so one could probably do the job. But I'm afraid that I might not be able to jack up the car to do it myself.

What do you guys think? Have you done it? Or just let a shop do it?

I've done thousands of springs/coils on several different imports. Bought me a 2015 SS and a set of springs. The Camaro was the easiest install EVER! Lol minus the fitment issues I'm having, the install was really easy. Very LITTLE tension on oem springs as well

Did you have a lift or did you manage with a jack?

Yup very easy DIY....I've done it twice and had never done any type of suspension work before. Just follow the install instructions and the video on YouTube Apex Motorsports

DIY the springs and find a real alignment shop for alignment.

What is marking the struts for? Just to make sure that they sit in the same position afterwards?

You don't necessarily need a spring compressor however you should have one. I believe when I installed my coils I needed the spring compeessor for the front shocks.

Do it yourself with a friend, very easy to do as long as you got patience and time.

suggest you get pricing and see if its worth the hassle. Not having the right tools or a stubborn bolt or something stupid always turns a easy job into a hassle.

Yes. Phastek has a video of install on their website as well. No spring compressor is needed. There is very little tension on the tophat. You'll need a t50 socket on front and the back is a smaller one(dnt remember the size. Maybe a t47) to hold the strut while loosing the nut. Once you get the nut almost all the way backed off, press down on the tophat/spring and the nut will spin off nice and easy. Good to have a extra set of hands to help with this process. I had my 7yr old son spin the nut off for me
