7. Plugged SCT tuner into computer and used the SCT software to 'Get Stock tune file from device'
8. SCT software gave me a .bef file, but that was it.
9. Talked with SCT who said they would have to pass the issue to their engineers. This was last Wednesday I believe.
9. Tried to return vehicle to stock but SCT tuner said the stock tune file is missing.
That is really odd, Sorry for your trouble SCT will have to step in here.

Talked with SCT this morning who told me that the .bef file I sent them is totally corrupted. The guy I talked to said I would need to take the car to Chevy to get the ECU reflashed.

I said "so you guys are going to pay for that right since losing the tune is the device's fault?" The tech said "well wait a minute, we are going to try something else..."

I had to go to work so I told them I would call back tomorrow and see what they have to say.

Update: Called SCT this morning and they said they are going to have me send them back the tuner so they can unlock it. No cost to me, I just have to put it in a box and put their prepaid postage on it.

It's a hassle, but I'm glad they are sticking by their customers!

Sct tuner problem

Hi all I just joined this forum recently. I am having a similar problem with my Sct x4 tuner. I plugged into my 2012 Camaro and did the canned tuned. Worked perfectly. Took the tuner to my computer and had it look for upgrades. It upgraded all the files except the last tune file. Window poped up that says to return car to stock before upgrading. Well I took the tuner back to the car and it says some error number. I then tried the the tune car option and the tuner tells me that he tune is out of date. Does anyone have any tips for me or am I screwed to leave the tune as is.

Your suppose to upload the latest files BEFORE you plug it into the car. And later on if you want to upload the latest files again...Your suppose to return the car to the stock tune first. I think you found out the reasoning behind that sequence.
