CEL troubles! Lean in banks 1 and 2

I ran the same setup last year as I am this year and the other day I was driving it up to about 3-4k rpms per gear. About 1/2 hour into my drive, I got a CEL and when I looked it up with my scanner, i got the 1and 2 bank running lean codes. I havent done anything different other than running 95 octane fuel from the local harley dealership on this tank of fuel. Last year I was mixxing 91 and 100 octane half and half. Anybody have any ideas?

Mine is doing the same. We have 8,000 miles and it has done the lean codes twice now! Anyone one else?

Send a message via AIM to Ovenmitt
Add more fuel pump. Lean is pretty self explanatory

vacuum leak somewhere... after the MAF is my guess
I had a similar problem where I found the rubber coupler in my CAI would get hot after driving a while and lose its seal to the hard plastic tube. When the car would cool, the codes would eventually clear themselves.

I feel like a complete toolbag......I forgot that I had installed an oil catch can.....i traced the hoses and found a couple that looked less-than-tight. When i think about it, I was also having some surging and bouncy idle when coming to a stop since taking it out of the garage for the year. I tightened everything back up and cleared the codes. Hopefully this is the fix for the problem. Thanks for the info Jessika!

Old Fuel or Dirty Maf will set those codes.

Ted.

Ted.

I took it for a drive today after securing all of the vacuum lines last night. I cleaned the MAF sensor and will be refueling with new fuel for the other 1/2 tank. I dont know how much fuel the place that I got it at originally sells so it could have been older fuel. Thanks for the input Ted!
