depends, some of the local shows have " featured cars", if any of them this year happen to be Camaros...then you know it, otherwise I usually take my 66to the bigger shows and when my sons home from college, he drives the 69.
I will definitely take it to some cruise nights though. P.S. ......this is assuming I'll have it in time. |

Sure I did this last week and won first place for best in show for 75 and newwer street high performance. I had to beat them back with a stick. I was also invited to a larger car show and was offered front and center. there are very few Camaro's her in Oregon. Mine is the first in the Eugene area. Diggermike62

Went to a classic car gathering last week, showed up late and stole the show.
Didn't enter, it was 70 1/2 and older but got honorable mention for most badassedness! ________ Wendie 99 Last edited by superstockcam; 04-19-2011 at 02:57 AM. |

After delivery and PDI; not for a while. I want to do some cosmetic stuff paint wise before hitting the Michigan Fbody circuit. Could start seeing a 1SS RJT around the town summer '10. Hopefully earlier, but ya know how post grad life is for that first year.. :/

i personally feel like car shows should be for modified or classic cars...
HOWEVER... I took mine to two shows and will probably do one on July 4 in my hometown... simply because I KNOW that there are folks out there that have not had a chance to see one and I want to get the word out! Had many folks thank me for bringing it out to see. Also taking it to see Transformers at the Drive-in movie! (im a sl@t)

I don't really think it's necessary, since mine will be mostly stock, but I probably would if someone asked me to. But I don't want 10,000 people sitting it, that's for sure

car shows are usually happy to get entrants. the purpose is not hardcore competition.

Have you ever attended a JUDGED car show where you pull up into the judging lane and have two judges fill out a 20-100 pt. judging sheet and spend at least 10 min walking around your car evaluating it. Or are you talking about attending a show that is nothing but a show & shine.

No Reason Not to!
This is one of hose subjects that seems to light a fire unde rthe "Traditionalists" versus the rest of the people out there.
I have heard the comments , "Keep it Old!', "I don't like that car!" ad nauseum. My take is if it is your car and there is an appropriate class in which to enter it, by all means, do so and enjoy the car and show. The world did not stop making cars after 1972. There are plenty of newer cars that are as interesting and attractive to people in later model years (including now). I would think a new Ccmaro/Mustang/Challenger, would draw a heck of a lot of attention at any show. Much moreso than a Camry/Fusion/Malibu. I fully respect the older cars. I know people put a lot of work into them. But, the newer cars out there, are of equal importance. Not only from an interest standpoint, but how about from a preservation of the Car Hobby at large. Many of us are getting onin years, we need to ensure that there is interest in cars like these among the younger generation. Let's all get out young/old, antique/new, male/female and enjoy all of these beautiful cars.
