Just quit smoking

So it's been over 24 hours since my last cigarette and no cravings. I know a lot of smokers might be like just wait, but I have a feeling this is the time. Because well this time I have help. I've been taking Chantrix (and the dreams are incredible haha). Now its not the miracle drug ive heard it to be, but its finally starting to work. Everyone I know that has taken it before me has been able to quit after a week or so of taking it. I just started my week 4 pack. But the previous 2 weeks Ive only been smoking 1-3 cigs a day, with the first week, progresively dropped from 1-1.5 packs a day. Even then those other smoke I had were when I was around other smokers and/or drinking.

And now its time to get all this tar out of my lungs. Today ive still periodically coughing up black stuff. I think the Chantrix is helping with that too. When I did smoke I would alway have 1 or 2 coughs right after waking up that got a bumch of tar out but that was it. And even when I was smoking and taking it, I would periodically get some out. Gross I know, bur better than it staying in there.

So here to hoping no mas!

I quit cold turkey a little over a year ago, the first week was tough but it got easier. The habits of smoking after a meal or break time at work were tough as well, I would get up and go outside and then realize I didn't smoke anymore. Good luck to you, I know it's hard but be strong and you'll be able to quit.

You can do it. I quit 21 months and about $4,000 ago - it adds up that fast! You will feel better. Stick with it.

Keep up the good work. Not a smoker but my wife was. She used the Chantix as well. She was not fond of the dreams but she toughed it out. Been a year for her and she's happy. You can do it.

Good job keep it up!!! I stopped cold turkey in 1998 and I was a two pack a day smoker. Just got to the point they did not taste good anymore.
Living in New Jersey and smoking just a pack a day at $8.00 each makes me happy I quit when they cost $2.00, We will find something else to spend thousands of dollars on..
Good luck to you !!!

From what I've read it takes Half the Time you smoked to clear your lungs (get them nice and pink again). So if you've smoked for ten years, it will take Five Years, smoking for 20 years, 10 years etc...
