I was just thinking about this with all the cam failures lately. So I guess the real question is what is better from a reliability standpoint FI or a cam?

First comp cam sheered the pin off, 3 bolt setup. ~700 miles on it. Second one has 10k+ miles and no issues.

Nice thread. Right now I am looking to see if there a trend such as who has failures using a specific oil. The other thing I am interested in knowing is what kind of internals people were using.

I'm starting to think that FI might just be more reliable. Especially if you have a great tune, enough fuel supply, enough octane, under 9psi.
L99 owners should consider spending the extra couple grand and going straight to a blower. I'm starting to hear about stock cam/stock valve train L99's with over 100k miles and a blower.

Does anyone know what the buzz is over on some of the Corvette forums for cammed C6's since they have the same LS3 engines as our Camaros?

There are a lot of cammed C6 Corvettes out there - maybe even more than Camaros. I don't go on any of their forums is the reason I ask.

CAM TYPE/BRAND - Custom grind by Ed Curtis of FlowTech Inductions. He also did the work on the heads.
CAM SPECS -24X/25X .64X/63X - 115 (mild cam)
SINGLE OR 3 BOLT CAM - 3 bolt
CAM MILES - 15K (about 10 runs at the track) - It's my DD
FORCED INDUCTION - All motor - all internals are forged.
POWER LEVEL - 500+
OIL TYPE - Redline
DATE OF CAM - May/2012
STILL RUNNING - Oh yeah!

I remember PQ's thread when he discovered the damage. He'd been running about 15 PSI or less with respect to his oil pressure. I run 15 psi once the engine is warmed up. My valve train is very noisy and it sounded like PQ's video clip. I got pretty paranoid after that. I've pulled the heads twice and checked everything. All is good. I no longer have to take medication....for now.

Good luck PQ and hope to read about your new power plant soon.
