When I first saw the cars nose, I was hoping the grill would see the traditional "SS" emblem in the center. Now the bowtie has grown on me and I understand why it's there.

Gold?

I'm sure there will be plenty of aftermarket items to address the gold bow-tie. My wife loves the car but really hates anything gold colored...jewelry, doorknobs, kitchen fixtures, teeth, and especially car emblems.

A nice satin-nickel one to match the after-market fuel-cap would work just fine. What ever happened to ... "Beware the Red Bow-Tie" from the 454SS days? SS/RS should have a red one, standard, IMO.

This discussion is basically why I'm getting the heritage grille to swap out as I please (at lesat I hope that's how I can manage it). I plan to get the insert (all but the grille itself) painted to match the body and use either a bowtie or an SS (RS/SS, because it'll have the red lettering) badge in the center.

I plan on replacing the stock grille with the Heritage Grille. Then, pick up a 30 buck 69 SS emblem and hardware to mount it to the front.

After that, I'm going to repaint all the emblems in RJT and CGM.

I remember a time when gold bowties were for the trucks only and blue signified the general cars and, of course the red bowtie was for the performance cars. I think it should still be this way. I do not like the gold bowtie one bit.

I've gone through phases over the years about to badge or not to badge. I've stripped them all off before and loved the shaved look. Also, took off the Red GMC emblem on my Crew cab in favor of the all-billet look grill, only to buy a billet GMC emblem and put it on a couple years later!

Just proving a point to (myself at least) that personal tastes change over time. What you think you want right now as far as emblems or badges go, may be different when you get a Camaro.

And at least there are a gazillion ways to go, so change it up once in awhile until you find "the right tune". Just promise to never ever never paint the emblem to look like a Texas flag.

Not big on badging, if it was a little smaller, color coded might look better. Like the one on the back, not the lower GM badging on the fenders. Maybe will get LS3 under the camaro badge neaxt years production that would look good or even on the sides of the cowl.

Can someone tell me where we can get some different color badges? I would like to replace the camaro badge on the side with one like the Black Sema car has. It just says BLACK!!!! I would also like to get some of the others in the color black. I know that I could paint but would rather order them black in color.

I know some people don't like the badge. I like it fine. I think there should be some badge there. The 69' had a badge like the new car, the 67-68 had smaller, different badges. I would think a lot of customizing will occur.

I agree, the Front end looks better without the bowtie, but i'm indifferent about it on the back. as much as i love chevy, the car looks kind of 'bad-ass' with the all black grille.

To any that were interested, I made a quick mockup of my idea(s):

Pardon the lightness of the car if you think it's too light. My work monitor is a lot darker for some reason.
