Speaking of tunes. Does anyone have a tune that can be flashed back to stock without updating the counter so that the dealership won't void the warranty when you take it in?

I would love a tune for my auto V6LS but I don't want to void my rather extensive extended warranty.

Trifecta has all that. you can reflash your car to stock and also have transparence mode which fools the dealer into not seeing anything being tuned.
+ the v6's dont carry a 'flashcounter' like the v8's do, from what ive read extensively in this extremely helpful forum

That's for the 2011 ECU.... I haven't heard anything about the 2012 ECU not having a flash counter. Maybe bnr can chime in

If that is true, then I will be very happy to start tuning my car.

It's my understanding that a dealer may not be able to tell, but if the ECM is requested by GM and sent to GM, then the engineers there can tell. I believe that occurs sometimes during powertrain warranty claims. There has been discussion of this within a number of other threads, though I couldn't tell you which ones. I have also heard that the TCM does have a flash counter, so those with the automatic should consider this. My feeling is if you are very concerned about warranty, then don't tune. If you are not, then tune away; but don't think you'll get it by GM should there be a future powertrain claim. If you break the rules then live with the consequences...

OP - sorry for contributing to the thread jack...

I installed a JET module on a Ford F-150 once that a custumer brought in, and it seemed to make quite a difference, the customer left with the truck that afternoon and was back with it running rough and a check engine light the very next day. Removed the JET module and everything returned to normal. Maybe it was just a bad module or something, but the fact it only last less than a day, I have always stayed away from them.

I dont think it would be possible to compare the 2 with any fair outcomes.

Well I don't think anybody is trying to prove that jet would outperform a tube, because it is the cheap and easy alternative to a tune. I think the selling point is, the ease of removal so you do not void your full warranty the way you would with a tune.

How much was the jet chip? You can pick up a tune and a cable for $315 shipped if you catch one of our sales or a group buy. Does anyone have any evidence that it doesn't leave anything behind in the ECM? I'm just curious on that last part.

I was wondering that as well, if it has ever been confirmed because I do not know. I was just basing that upon what I have been hearing as far as pro's and con's of each. IF you are able to just unplug and plug as you please, then I think it would be very beneficial. Sounds like an easy and (safe?) method of changing your a/f ratio, amongst other minor alterations.

Just out of curiousity can you confirm if the 2012's have the ecu that can hide a tune? I read somewhere that you could. Also, what kind of gains would we be looking at by getting a tune from you guys? I am in Naples, Fl so I could drive up for the day. I just do not know enough about a tune, or the jet performance module for that matter.
