SS - 2012 or 2013?
Don't care much about the Nav and MyLink, but primarily wondering if the dual mode exhaust is worth getting a 2013 (and giving up what would likely be a very sweet deal on a 2012)?
Thoughts? Could it be retrofitted to a 12? |

They actually have the factory dual exhaust diffuser available (shopchevyparts.com) to be retro-fitted to the 2012 (I have a 2012). If you want to go that route. I hope they can do the same with the MyLink.

You can install the exhaust but the car won't be programmed to open/close the valves based on engine RPM. I think for now you'll have to use a mild to wild type device "NPP in a box" to manually open/close them. Unless someone has figured out how to program 2010-2012's

It all depends on your Budget buddy.
Honestly I would go for the 2013. |

Budget's not an issue and ZL1 isn't what I really want for my DD. I would just want to drive a 13 to see how the electric steering feels, which I've been burnt on with another vendor.
There's also something nifty about getting a 2012 late in the year and going into 2013 with a 12 that has extremely low miles. In my mind (and I'm sure that's all it is), it helps offset the depreciation. If I can get a 12 for 3k or so under MSRP, I think that will be worth it and I MIGHT be able to score a 45th if there's any left (love the color). |

Go 2013... The exhaust note is awesome... Camaro finally sounds like it should from the factory, and I talked to one of the GM reps at C5 III and he said he is almost positive that MyLink will not work in 12 or older... just because of the difference in wiring harnesses. I would go 2013 regardless of the interest in mylink or not...

I was in the same boat as you and decided on the '13 for the DME (Dual Mode Exhaust)...TOTALLY worth it...

A 2012 will be much cheaper, a new exhaust system is not worth the additional cost to me.
