Had a warranty repair being performed...

I went to pick up my Camaro, with it's new torque converter...

UPDATE 11/14/2014 4:25pm - Got a call from Bob, the service rep who was initially handling my case at the service center. He said they'll take care of it, he acknowledged fault, saying if he would have seen the damage he wouldn't have had me come pick it up. He said it might have been from a particularly windy day, as it looks like a door hit it. They said they are going to go ahead and have their guy fix it. I called my insurance company to give them the heads up. They said they'll call them and request they don't start repair till they come take a look, which I think is a good idea, just to keep track of the repairs and make sure they are done well. I called the customer service District Manager, who I was in contact already regarding the torque converter, and let him know things look to be going well. I imagine I won't hear anything else till Monday.

Okay, those were funny.

Long story short, I'm letting my insurance company deal with it. My first time at this service center, so I do not know them enough to trust them to resolve this, and I'm not going to let myself get screwed over. The service manager was surprised to find out I was already in contact with the (very helpful) district manager, who I then left a voice mail for updating him of the situation.

Any idea how they did it? It's impressive because I don't see any scratches.

My thought is, it was hit with a door that has one of those rubber door guards along the edge (I have one).

Also, it is so far forward that a door wouldn't have hit that spot if it was parked in a normal parking lot. It would hit my door. This looks like it was parked, as cars usually are at dealers, in rows as tight as they can get them front to back, but not aligned in any particular way across.

The impact was enough that the top of the arch over the wheel is malformed a bit, pushed out.

But, that is some big impact from opening a door, so perhaps some sort of equipment was knocked into it, or a larger vehicle backed into it? It's very odd. Boxing glove?

Looks like they had a fender cover over the side of your car, guy was working and something smashed into it, hence no paint damage. Hope it gets taken care of. Hate seeing stuff like this. Was this a dealer?

Thanks, and that makes a lot of sense. It was a Chevy dealer, but not the one I bought my Camaro from.

As thin as the sheetmetal is on these cars, it would not suprise me if a tech leaned against the car with a knee, and then pussed off they knee to stand back up. I am sure it will get taken care of, but hate that you have this hassle.
