Seat belt not adjustable!
Am I missing something. I said I would wear a seatbelt once for a firefighter and it was horrible. It is not adjustable. It has some magnetic strap that undoes while your driving that then cause the belt to rub your neck. Not to mention, the belt then falls back where you can't get it or every time you get out you have to put the strap back on. I figured for a firefighter, that is someone who would run into a burning building and carry me out, I would wear it all day. But seriously, I just can see me doing this all the time in this car. It is a pain in the ass. (You will no doubtedly tell me about how much worst all the alternatives are but seriously, this seat belt is the worst designed one I have ever used.)
What is the fix here? What am I doing wrong? How do you adjust this sucker? |

yep, I completely agree, the seat belt's lack of adjustment sux. The magnetic button strap doesn't unsnap on me but the side of the belt tends to run on the side of my neck and it is annoying. I'll buy a seat belt guard next time I am at WalMart.

It fits me fine, but its probably just my size vs you. I've heard this complaint before from others and IMO it makes sense, just the design of the seat/location of the belt only fits certain size people well.

I never said that I don't know what size he is. I am 5'8", maybe he is taller than me or shorter than me and thats why it gets in the way.

I think it just depends on how far forward you go with the seat, giving that magnetic latch more strain. Mines seems to work fine.

If you've ever been in a Camaro (or any 2+2 coupe)...you're familiar with this situation. The huge doors limit what they can do with the belt position, unfortunately.
The magnetic straps could probably be a little stronger, but personally -- it never came unsnapped while I was driving the car...so I can't really comment there. The alternative, however, design-wise...is something fixed and ugly like this: http://l.yimg.com/dv/izp/chevrolet_c..._frontseat.jpg |

Every car I have seen made in the last 10 years has a slider up/down for the seat belt strap. This would have helped a lot, but, alas, this car does not have it.

How would a slider have helped at all? The B-pillars are so far from the seat, whatever 5 inches they could give you to slide would have nearly no effect on the angle it touches you.

Mine never comes unlatched, but I was wearing a t shirt the other day, and noticed the neck rub thing. Ive only had it a week and wear collared shirts to work, so hadnt noticed it.

The sliders would help prevent the strap from comming undone from the magnetic strap. The sliders would help the damn thing from rubbing on my reck and making it sore/hurt.
I know you can't talk about NOT WEARING THE SEATBELT, but no one seems to care if it is uncomfortable. |

I don't think a slider would help at all. It might reduce the straps tendency to come unhooked...but it wouldn't have fixed the neck-rubbing thing. There's just not enough B-pillar, and it's too far away from the seat. |

ANYWAY To agree with Dragoneye I don't think sliders would help either, the belt is just too far from the back of the seat as well unless your shoulder extends above the seat, which it may but not likely for most people, the belt will still contact the seat in the same position, connecting to your neck in the same position.
