St. Charles, MO here! If any of you MO heads want to share how you did on RS/SS summer only Pirelli's in the mid west winter last year drop me a note. This is my daily driver and my sixth Camaro and I've never had a problem in the past but I hear the summer only tires can be a problem under 30 degrees. Thanks in advance!

I have a 60 mile round trip to work everyday. Last year I was running all seasons on my Impala SS and they sucked. I just got my Camaro SS in June, and decided not to risk not having winter specific tires. Tirerack hooked me up with 4 Pirelli Scorpions on a new set of rims. It was pricey, but hopefully it will pay off in the long run.

Edit: Scorpions are great.

Yeah, I just picked up a winter beater. You will start to notice once it gets really cold out that it just isn't safe to drive these when it's below freezing and there is any precipitation at all. They really do turn into hockey pucks. People have said that winter tires completely solves the issue but for a couple hundred more I was able to pick up another car that I drive when the weather is bad.

I have a winter beater but have driven my ss/rs in the winter(cold but sunny days). The tires definitely like to be warmed up fora smooth ride.
