Question Steering Wheel Bowtie Blackout

Has anyone attempted to plasti-dip or sharpie the bowtie on the steering wheel?
Seems a bit ridiculous to have a gold emblem on the car at this point...
I don't want to spary plasti-dip in the car... seems like an AWFUL idea.
Is this part difficult to remove? I would assume so since it is the airbag...

Sounds like it is best to do what that guy did and have Roger @ emblem pros make a custom Bowtie.

One other thing you could try is mask the chrome off in painters tape and paint the gold part Black by detail paint brush.

I put maybe about 3 or 4 little pass overs with a Sharpie and it came out great for me
Always wave a sharpie and tell me friends at school "custom painted" haha

Looks great! Did you have any over spray issues?
My car still smells like new car so I'm not ready to sub that out for scent of spray paint yet, but there will come a day.

No overspray, everything was well covered, spray for 5 seconds, 3 coats, paint smell goes await real quick. I used painters blue tape around they bowtie. Sheet or towels on the seats and dash

How about using a Testors paint pen/marker?

I know it's not a good/clear picture but I'm on my summer vacation right now and this is the only pic I had in my phone with it in it (it does have that ink type purple hue to it when it's first on but after letting it dry and taking excess off it will turn solid black)
