GMPP track pack exhaust upgrade?

so i was just looking through all the camaro parts available in the GMPP catalog and i see "SS track pack exhaust upgrade" for offroad use only. anyone know what this is? does it work in conjunction with the GM cat back that is offered or is it another system? high flow cats on it or none at all? anyone know anything about this?

track pack PN - 92231570
Exhaust upgrade PN - 92206992, 92225672

It's "off-road" cat-back.

Louder, will ROAR you to life, more power due to lower restriction, make you dream of exhaust sounds, cause unexplained acceleration repeatedly.

Louder, does not meet noise regulations, will drone you at highway speeds.

But, I LOVE it!

F'n A right!!! I think it's just resonators in place of mufflers, like on the CB we've seen from GMPP. I'd like to see how close it comes to Borla's design, because one of their guys said their CB would be more aggressive and flow a little better. If Borla's CB is about the same price as this one from GMPP, flows as good, and sounds about the same, I'll be definately getting this one. It's not going to be too loud, especially through the manifolds and cats' (assuming it's just a muffler/tailpipe replacement).

Does anyone else know?...

You might want to try sending a PM to Robin Lawrence at GMPP. He's good about getting back to people with a response.

Typically, off-road versions do NOT have cats at all. My X-pipe on my Mach1 is a off-road Borla which is how they differentiate the cats versus non-cats versions.

If it's just a cat-back it's probably labled "off-road only" because it's loud and doesn't meet noise standards. If it goes from the manifolds back it may be "off-road only because it doesn't include cats.

This sounds good and all.. but isnt it illegal? Cops give tickets for noise pollution. Is this an issue?

If "Off-road" exhaust means no cats, then it has to be illegal for regular street driving I would think.

Check this out. I just found this doing some internet surfing on the subject. This article suggests that the sound level is higher than the manufacturers are allowed to put on the car from the factory (not necessarily illegal on the street maybe?). Hard to say about whether the cats come out or not. We have exhaust experts on this site all over the place. Please chime in and help us understand.

EDIT: Sorry for the Mustang article but I did not find many referencing GM stuff.
