Big block swap?

Anyone put a big block (454, 502, 572) in their Gen5?

Im playing with the idea of a cam, 416 stroker, or both. Then Started thinking, Why not drop in a crate 454 or 502........

Some have dropped in lsx454's

Also there was one on here who dropped in a 500 tall deck. Honestly a big block just will not fit correctly.

An actual big block would be a 50 year regression in technology and performance. Sleeve an LS if all you want is a cubic inch number.

Sounds good, and I also thought about the fitment. Thanks for the info

Why is this? I'm just curious. I'm not familiar with the reason. I am looking for a high cube N\A engine. Im obsessed with classic muscle cars but I enjoy the styling of modern muscle cars. My favorite concept of Classic American Muscle is BIG @SS Engines.

I would get a junkyard aluminum 5.3 and send it to ERL and then get the cubes your looking for. All you'll need is the rotating assembly and that's gonna be where the $$$ goes lol.

Agreed, from durability, strength, cylinder heads LSX's are more advanced than the 1st n 2nd gen big/small blocks.

The technology that goes into modern engines is much more advanced now then 50 years ago call tsp about your goals and they will give you a price quote on a crate block any number of cubes you may desire with modern day technology is a more intellectual choice.

I hear ya, Ive been torn between so many different ideas.

Also thinking about buying a 2013 or 2014 Challenger SRT8, the 392 can be stroked to 447 and be a reliable DD. My ultimate goal is to have each of the big three.

A modern Camaro with a 400+ Cube engine n/a
A modern Challenger with a 447 stroker n/a
A 1967 Shelby GT500E

EDIT:
Call it a Mid Life crisis at the age of 22 lol. I guess because of all the EPA crap out there today, I want to be selfish and have one of each of the big muscle cars and keep them for a very long time. Not for them to be worth a lot of money one day, but for me to enjoy them today and in the future.

With going above 450 cubes, would I need to have headers with 2" primaries? Or are the 1 7/8" more than enough?

I just had a LSX 454 put in. It has low end torque like a old big block 454, but drives like a stock LS3 with a big cam on the highway. I have 1-7/8" ARH headers on it, don't think you need 2" headers, but they would not hurt.

I also wonder, is there a way to get the Chrome Accessory covers for the new engines we have?
