I wanted to run this full time as my car is mostly used for the track a few random back road drives. Would there be a problem running this full time especially if say there were no cats? Just make sure I get the oil up to temp before i get on it? From my understanding it puts more junk out the exhaust, would appreciate any input

It's on sale now at Walmart:

Chevrolet says the 0w40esp is good for the track also.

Yes, this would be the oil to use for most all Camaros so you can go both street and track without changing oil.

ZL1 1LE and Corvette ZR1 require 15W50 on the track

Too thin for 1LE.

I run 15w-50 full time in mine, sparse street driving and mostly track. I am catless and live in South Florida, no issues at all.

So tell me what the difference is with the 1le engine that requires a heavier oil ? None, the 0w40esp is fine for the track with an LT4 period. Please correct me if I'm wrong ?

Increased lateral Gs, 1.17-1.18 capable on 1LE in combination with wet sump create potential for reduced lube values.

Are you running a CC?

Great vid at Sebring. That GT350s rubber (M Cup2s?) was getting a little greasy a few laps in. Looked like your 3Rs were working well. Nice driving.

Waterman explained it well. Which is why I mentioned ZR1 too. Same thing with the Vettes

Here is a detailed explanation from Al O.

Btw... If you still have a stock, untuned, ZLE and want to be covered by the GM warranty in the event of a motor failure on track, you must only use Mobil 1 15w50.

It’s not a recommendation, it’s a condition or rule of the warranty and they will test the oil to verify this if the motor fails.

At which point you don't happen to mention the track so it won't matter.
