First Repair Needed
And a VERY minor one at that!
My TPMS alerted me today that my L/R tire was low. Got the car home and there is a wood screw in the tire. That's what you get with all the constuction going on in Calgary all over the place. I'm just lucky it is my first flat in literally years! I called the dealer and explained that while I have the ability to plug the tire myself, I would rather they repair it as I have Road Hazard on the Pirelli's that I paid big money for. (Can't remember how much right now, but I'm not going to pay for it and not use it!) I have an appointment and 11:00 AM on Saturday! They said I should be able to wait for it. (I would certainly hope so). LOL |

I would tell them that you just want a new tire. I mean you have the protection plan right? Then after they give you a new tire tell them you want the punctured one for a "tire swing" . With all that construction, pretty soon you'll have a spare set of rubber.

I know your pain. I had a screw in a brand new winter tire 2 weeks after I got the car (during winter). Had to get that tire replaced entirely. Then a month after I swapped to the Pirellis for the summer I got a nail in one. Thankfully that one could be repaired.

You had me worried Tom when I read the subject line. Good to hear it wasn't something serious...... mechanically speaking. And hey it is a WHOLE lot better than area 51

This was very painless today. Took about an hour and the tire is good as new!
Now...Monday, I go in the have the parcel shelf in the rear window replaced as it got scratched up when my rear window broke. I'm going to have them do an oil change and rear end service at the same time! |
