Check engine light

After having a small leak in my brand new exhaust fixed (pipes weren't connected properly) which was an easy fix. Now my check engine light has turned on. Haven't done anything to it except fill it with premium fuel after learning my dealership lied about what fuel I need. Any suggestions? Sorry if this is not in the right spot. And yes I tried to search.

nobody can help you unless you have the car scanned and share the code. I'm guessing since they took off the exhaust, you have an issue in the cat sensor or wiring.

go back to dealer.

there is also a thread about the fuse pull to reset the fuel tables that may help you too. And make sure the gas cap is on tight....

Stop by an Autozone, O'reiles, or PepBoys and get it scanned. And buy yourself a cheap OBDII scanner as well. Unless we know the codes we can't help you.

I bought the cheapest OBDII reader, $79.00. Not only can it translate the code to the corresponding number but it can also reset the error so the light goes out. This is assuming the error has been corrected. Do yourself a favor and spend the $79.99-$85.00 to read the code and get on with your life. You could even read your friends and families' codes for a profit.

OP, you should check the blinker fluid.

Or you can go get an OBDII code reader like Lawman suggested and be able to read and clear your own codes. It will pay for itself the first time you use it.

you still have stock catalytic converters and exhaust manifolds? Do the fuse pull and if you already fixed the leak in the exhaust the code might go away. get it scanned for free at the auto parts store right it down and clear it. might not come back.

Wow guys thanks a lot I'm going to buy the diagnosis thing which seems like a great investment. Ordering online though as it's cheaper. Will also run to auto shop and have the diagnostic done to see what it is I'll let you all know soon. Hopefully it's a quick fix.

So I just got a P0150 read on the diagnostic which is something with the 02 censor.

I think the blinkers on the later models are pneumatic.
Just need to recharge the accumulator with compressed air.

man, don't go buy a scanner for $80.

Get on amazon and get THIS if you have an Android phone, or THIS if you have an iphone.

Then, go to your Play Store (android) or App Store (iphone)

Android: buy Torque Pro for 4.95
iphone: buy DashCommand for 9.99

Total cost:
-Android: $28.94 (+ any tax you may have to pay)
-iphone: $26.98 (+ any tax...)

Now you can pull codes any time, any place. Not to mention that both of these apps have some really cool features that will allow you to monitor whatever parameters you want....get a windshield mount for your phone and go to town!

Pull up Torque on your cell phone and read the code. Try doing a reset.

I can't believe everyone doesn't have this... if they own a phone.
